D-Black Pays Royalties To Apietus For Sampling His Song In A New Release


Ghanaian anglophone rapper and hip hop icon Desmond Kwesi Blackmore popularly known as D-Black has showed much respect to the work of other artists in regards to copyright in his new gesture.

In a much trended picture of himself and legendary versatile music producer Apietus, D-Black announced he has paid the necessary ownership rights and license royalties to the producer for sampling his musical work in his new song which features Efya dubbed DinDin.


In an Instagram post, D-Black captioned with the following words to announce his respect to other artists in regards to copyright.

Before I kicked off the media run for my new single #Dindin ft. @efya_nokturnal next week I needed to make sure the legendary @appietusmix received his plaque and publishing royalties agreement for his sample we used on the song from Ofori Amponsah’s Emmanuella song. Produced by young upcoming producer @hylanderbeatz , it was only right that we do this properly to grow the music industry we in. Big Love ❤️ 🙏🏾
