The white adidas change strip is visible in the new away kit for Manchester United’s 2022–23 season. A white jersey has always been a staple of United’s lineup, and over the years, many third kits have favored that color scheme.
However, with more recent releases of black, gold, salmon, and blue options, this is the first time since 2015–16 that their away uniform has taken that direction.
United chose to incorporate the club crest within a shield, much like the club’s home kit for the upcoming season. This decision pays homage to the legendary 2006–07 and 1999 treble-winning kits.
“Perfect for any occasion, the away shirt is designed with a subtle helix pattern, which is engineered into the fabric of the jersey,” United said of their most recent design. The design embodies the club’s three guiding principles: achievement, bravery, and youth.
The engineered collars and cuffs were also influenced by the club’s distinctive visual identity.
According to them it is “Inspired by the rich, graphical DNA of Manchester United jerseys from the past, the fluid lines symbolize characteristics of the 1990s.”
