Twitter Lifts Donald Trump Ban After Elon Musk’s Poll

After a narrow majority of Twitter users voted to overturn a ban on the former US president, Elon Musk has restored Donald Trump’s account.

Following the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, Twitter suspended Trump’s account for breaking their terms of service and due to the possibility of “future instigation of violence.”

Even though the former president had not yet posted to the more than 70 million followers who were following him, the account looked to be active on Sunday. His final tweet, sent on January 8, 2021, stated he will not be there for Joe Biden’s inauguration as the 46th President of the United States.

When speaking about the subject on Saturday, Trump didn’t seem very eager to return to Twitter. The former president was asked about it by a panel at the annual leadership gathering of the Republican Jewish Coalition, and he responded via video, “I don’t see any need for it.”

He declared that he will continue to use the Truth Social platform, which was created by his firm Trump Media and Technology Group.

Trump hailed Musk and said he had always admired him when he declared his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024 last week. However, Trump also said that Twitter dealt with “amazing” issues, including bots and false accounts.
